Care Partner Empowerment: Enhancing Lives in Dementia Care
University of Northern British Columbia Nursing Professor Dr. Shannon Freeman received a four-year, $1 million grant to support people living with dementia and their caregivers across northern BC.
The project, “Care Partner Empowerment: Enhancing Lives in Dementia Care,” received funding through the Public Health Agency of Canada’s Dementia Community Investment program.”
Netherlands Mission
CTAAN Director Dr. Richard McAloney and CTAAN Academic Director Dr. Shannon Freeman were recently part of a delegation sent to participate in a mission in the Netherlands in October. They were tasked with representing the Canadian perspective on healthcare innovations and knowledge enhancement, specifically with regard to the older adult care industry, at an event hosted by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency. Their participation represents one piece of what will hopefully be a long standing partnership between the Netherlands and Canada to benefit the older adult care systems in both nations.
